Calgary, AB -- On April 4th and 5th, the Western Hockey League (WHL), in conjunction with Okanagan Hockey Group, will bring the WHL Prospect Combines to NESS Arena in Calgary, AB.
The two-day event brings the same testing done at the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to the top young players across Western Canada and the USA. There will be on and off-ice testing utilizing Sport Testing Inc.’s equipment and extensive database on Day 1, while on Day 2 there will be skill improvement sessions and seminars for all players based on their testing results.
WHL Prospect Combines not only give young players an opportunity to test their abilities in comparison to other elite players, but also give players the opportunity to learn more about the WHL. Players also have the chance to showcase their talents to WHL Clubs as all Combine results are provided to WHL General Managers and scouting departments.
WHL Prospect Combines are open to top level players born in 2003 or earlier who want to improve and strive to play in the WHL or the highest level possible.
Players who have been tested include; Matt Dumba (Minnesota Wild), Seth Jones (Nashville Predators), Curtis Lazar (Ottawa Senators), Nick Merkley (Kelowna Rockets, CHL Top Prospect), Adam Musil (Red Deer Rebels, CHL Top Prospect), Hadyn Fleury (Red Deer Rebels, Carolina Hurricanes, 7th overall), Sam Reinhart (Kootenay Ice, Buffalo Sabres 2nd overall), Josh Morrissey (Kelowna Rockets, Winnipeg Jets, 13th overall), and Jake Virtanen (Calgary Hitmen, Vancouver Canucks, 6th overall)

At OHA, I had an opportunity to play with some of best players in the country and had coaches that pushed me to be my best, positioning me to play for the Penticton Vees and now the University of Denver.
