OHA Female Varsity wins CSSHL Championship

oha-female-varsity-championship-crop.jpgSelma Luggin’s (Vienna, Austria) third consecutive shutout of the 2018 BDO Canadian Sport School Hockey League Championships paved the way for the Okanagan Hockey Academy to capture the CSSHL Female Varsity Division Championship with a 1-0 win over the Delta Hockey Academy on Wednesday.

Sarah Paul (Kelowna, BC) scored the lone goal of the game, breaking the 0-0 deadlock with 5:45 remaining in the second period.

Luggin, who finished with 30 saves on the day, made 23 of them in the final 40 minutes.

Taylor Billingsley (North Vancouver, BC) was stellar in the Delta crease, stopping 34-of-35 shots fired her way, keeping her team in the game.

Okanagan finished the regular season in first place with a 16-6-3 record, while Delta, the defending champions, finished in third place with a 12-11-2 record.
