Okanagan Hockey Academy alum Jordan Hollett has been selected by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round, 183rd overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Hollett, 18, becomes the third OHA alum selected at the 2017 NHL Draft, following Michael Rasmussen (Detroit, 9th overall) and Scott Walford (Montreal, 68th overall). All three were teammates at OHA from 2013-2015.
Hollett posted a 1.75 goals-against average with the OHA Bantam Prep team in 2013-14, before winning a Canadian Sport School Hockey League Midget Prep Championship with OHA Midget Prep White during the 2014-15 season.
The Langley, B.C. product was selected by the Regina Pats in the first round, 13th overall, at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Hollett has spent the past two seasons with the Pats, appearing in 43 games while posting a 25-9-3 record.
The 6-foot-5 goaltender will play for the Medicine Hat Tigers next season after being acquired from Regina via trade.
Going to OHA was one of the greatest decisions I have made for my hockey career. OHA prepared me for the next level. Skating, strength, speed, conditioning. I wouldn't be the player and person that I am today if I hadn’t chosen OHA."
