The Okanagan Hockey Academy is pleased to congratulate Micah Hart on being named to the Canadian Under-18 National Women’s Team Camp roster.
Hart, 17, is one of three returning members from the 2014 team that captured the gold medal in Budapest, Hungary, recording one assist in five games.
The Saanichton, BC product registered 19 points (1-18-19) in 42 games with the OHA Female Prep team during the 2013-14 season.
Forty-two players were invited to the camp, which takes place from Aug. 7-17 in Calgary, Alberta. Players will be split into two groups and will undergo off-ice training, practices and scrimmages. From there, 22 players will be chosen to compete in a three-game series against the United States from Aug. 21-24 in Calgary.
The 2015 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship gets underway in January 2015 in Buffalo, New York. Canada has won at least a silver medal in the past seven U18 Championship’s, and has won the past three tournaments and three of the last four overall.
