Penticton, B.C. — The Okanagan Hockey Community Foundation (OHCF) is proud to announce its first fundraising event, the Dave Finner Memorial Golf Tournament presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union.
The tournament is set to take place on June 27 at the spectacular Fairview Mountain Golf Course in Oliver. Dave Finner, a former employee of Valley First, was a long-time supporter of Penticton’s hockey community.
“The Foundation is very excited to partner with Valley First in memory of Dave Finner,” said Michael O’Connor, Chair of OHCF. “This is a great opportunity to honour Dave’s memory while supporting a worth while cause in providing educational opportunities to student athletes and families with financial barriers.”
“Dave was an integral part of our Valley First family and shared our organization’s values for giving back to the community,” said Susan Ewanick, President of Valley First. “We are so proud to be able to support this charitable fundraiser in Dave’s honour that supports and nurtures future leaders in our community.”
“Dave was a long-time supporter and advocate of what the Okanagan Hockey Group offers as it relates to preparing youth for the future,” said Kalli Quinn, Executive Director of the OHCF. “We look forward to having fun, raising funds and making a difference in the educational advancement of student athletes immediately, tomorrow and in the future.”
Foursomes are on sale publicly starting today for $1200 CDN + GST and can be purchased by filling out the registration form or contacting the office at 250-276-8132. Members of the Okanagan Hockey Academy Alumni and former and current NHL executives and players will be on hand to share in the festivities.

During my three years in Penticton, OHA was influential in my growth as a student, an athlete, and most importantly a person. Their overwhelming support made the city feel like home and the community feel like family. It was truly a first class experience, in an elite program that has prepared me for my time in university and any future endeavors."
