The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) today announced the division formats for the 2015 CSSHL Championships, which will take place in Penticton, BC from March 12-15, 2015.

All 33 CSSHL teams will be in Penticton for the weekend, which will see champions crowned from all five divisions.

The Bantam Prep Division and Bantam Varsity Division each will have identical playoff formats:

  • All four teams will make the post-season and play a three-game round robin schedule.
  • The two teams with the best record from the round robin portion will advance to the Championship Game.
  • The third and fourth seeded teams will play in the Third Place Game.

The Elite 15s Division will use the same format as 2014:

  • The top two seeds from the regular season will get byes straight to the semifinals.
  • The sixth and seventh seeds will play a qualifying game, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals to play the third seed. The fourth and fifth seed will play each other in the other quarterfinal game. Quarterfinal winners will move onto the semifinals to play seeds one and two.

The Varsity division will use the following format:

  • All six teams will make the post-season with the top two seeds receiving byes to the semifinals.
  • The third seed will play the sixth seed and the fourth seed will play the fifth seed in the quarterfinals, with the winners moving onto the semifinals.

The Prep Division will use the following format:

  • The top eight teams from the regular season will make the championship round of the post-season, with the bottom four teams playing in the consolation bracket, competing for seeds nine through 12.
  • In the quarterfinals, it will be: 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5, with the winners moving on to the semifinals.

PLEASE NOTE: There are consolation games in each Division for seeding purposes and all 33 teams are guaranteed to play at least two games at the 2015 Championships.
