As you complete your bantam eligibility, you face the opportunity to be selected in the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. The Western Prospects Bantam Showcase will allow you to go head-to-head with other 2006’s from across Western Canada and the United States who are also entering their Bantam Draft year. In previous camps, players have displayed their talents in front of personnel from Western Hockey League teams. In addition we have seen a variety of scouts, coaches and managers from a number of different leagues, which include Junior ‘A’, Junior ‘B’, Midget ‘AAA’ and Prep Schools.
History indicates there will be scouts in attendance in 2020. There is no other camp that gives one single age group the opportunity to be the complete focus. Western Prospects Bantam Showcase staff will provide players our undivided attention and give the opportunity to “show their stuff” against their peers.
The Western Prospects Bantam Showcase also includes WHL Combine Testing. WHL Combine Testing consists of on-ice and off-ice testing sessions featuring the same comprehensive tests performed at all WHL Combine Testing events including the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, WHL Team Testing, Provincial High Performance Camps, the WHL U.S. Combine Camp powered by Under Armour, and more.
WHL Combine Testing will also provide the following take-aways:
Athlete Report: individual athlete results and combine comparative results to peers
Sport Pulse: progress report comparing all historical individual athlete results
Access to WHL Database: compare your results to over 10,000 athletes tested with WHL Combines
Access to Sport Testing Database: compare your results to over 25,000 athletes tested with SportTesting. Use your results to track your development progress, highlight areas of weakness, and target your off-ice/ on-ice training needs
All WHL Combine results are entered into the WHL Database and sent directly to all WHL General Manager and Head Scouts to track and identify prospective players
I can confidently say the Okanagan Hockey Academy had an impact on me as a hockey player but more importantly as a person. OHA taught me to bring my best self in all aspects of life including as a student, player and community member. I learned many life skills during my time at OHA that I will take with me much longer than my playing career and that is the greatest gift the staff, coaches, billets and community gave to me. I strongly believe I am a more well-rounded individual because of my time at OHA. I hope any young hockey player with drive, determination and a passion to become a better player and person is able to have the chance to attend somewhere so amazing. For me OHA gave me the best balance of academics, athletics, family and social life. I am extremely grateful for my time at Okanagan Hockey Academy.
