  • Playing the game at a higher pace with and without the puck
  • Better in one-on-one situations but also reading and utilizing odd man opportunities
  • Creating space in all situations and all zones
  • Individual skill work emphasizing the mind, eyes, hands and feet all working together
  • Improving puck skills including technical work on skating, passing, shooting and stick handling
  • Challenging players to play at a higher speed through drills designed around footwork
  • Small area games encouraging a high compete but also ice awareness
  • Add 2.75 hours of ice time daily

About Brett McLean:

Brett McLean played 385 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers, accumulating 162 points (56-106-162). He was a member of the 1998 Canadian National Junior team and is the Kelowna Rockets all-time leader in goals (166), assists (209) and points (375).

McLean is currently an assistant coach with the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild, a role he has been in since 2017.
