CALGARY Winter Break Power skating/Skills combo camp

December 27-29, 2017 at Flames Community Arenas in Calgary, Alberta

TWO age groups: 9-10 (2007-2008) and 11-12 (2005-2006)

Quantum_Speed_Logo.jpgOpen to current Atom and Pee Wee players, the three-day Winter Break Power Skating/Skills Combo Camp is designed to help players of all levels improve their skating technique and mechanics during one ice session per day and then work on puck protection and shooting and scoring skills during the second daily ice session.

Goalies will not take part in Power Skating sessions, but will do two skills sessions each day. One with the 2004-2005 group and one with the 2006-2007 group. There will be a dedicated goalie instructor with the goalies for each session. There are only two goalie spots for each age group.

This camp is offered in two groups: Players born in 2005-2006 and players born in 2007-2008

The Power Skating sessions led by Quantum Speed will focus on:

  • Technique to improve power and speed
  • Full leg extension¬†
  • Edge control
  • Agility and balance
The Skills sessions led by Okanagan Hockey will focus on:
  • Shooting and scoring skills
  • Small area games
  • Game situation drills
  • Checking and puck protection skills

I can confidently say the Okanagan Hockey Academy had an impact on me as a hockey player but more importantly as a person.
